4 Aug 2013
3.8km swim • 180km bike • 42.2km run

The boys of teamTBB dominated the day putting their will on the race and taking 1st and 2nd overall. Dan and Stephen worked together on the swim and bike to build up a big advantage then ran together for the first half of the marathon before Dan took the lead and went on to win. On the women's side, Bella showed why she is toughest Ironlady in the world battling through a tough day to finish just outside the podium.

In the men's race, Dan defended his title and has two Ironman UK titles now to his name. Stephen showed he is back with his great 2nd place finish.

Dan reported in to say:

I am really happy to retain my title, I've been working really hard at home and the work paid off. I now have to get over to mont tremblant and get enough points for kona. Was awesome racing alongside Stephen and running side by side.

Bella told us:

I was happy to finish IM UK on a day that I struggled all day. Of course it was not what I wanted but I am proud to have got to the finish line when I could have stopped many times before. It was great to see Stephen and Dan being so strong out there. ThankYou to all the amazing support out on the course. Now it's time to celebrate Charlie's 2nd birthday!

Stephen reported in to us to say:

The race went really well for most of it. I was pleased that dan and I were out front and working hard and we ended the bike with a very good gap to the next athletes. On the run I had a bad patch after half way. And dan was really strong all day. I am satisfied with 2nd and was happy to see dan retain his title with a fine performance

At teamTBB, we are so proud of the boys working together to get 1,2 in Ironman UK and always a pleasure to see Bella battling hard through adversity!

Congrats to teamTBB on an amazing Ironman UK! 3rd year in a row the men's title is with teamTBB!
