TeamTBB short course pro athlete, Francois Humblet, defended his title this weekend at the Belgian National Duathlon Championships which consisted of a 9km run followed by a 40.5km bike ending in a 6km run.

Having won the Belgian National Duathlon Championships in 2013, Francois was allocated the Number 1 position; this gave him the determination he needed to hold on to his title.

The race was made up of some of the very best duathletes, most of which are incredibly strong bikers, so Francois knew from the start that he would have to be smart in choosing his tactics for both the bike and the run. He had to make sure that he kept enough for the final 6km run while keeping up with the lead pack.

After a solid 9km run, Francois uses the bike to move himself up to the lead pack. Entering transition in 7th position off the bike, Francois changes to his running shoes at a blistering pace exiting in second place. It is not long before he catches and passes the leader. He holds on to the lead and finishes feeling good, head held high and arms in the air to take his second title at the Belgian National Duathlon Championships!

I want to say a big thank you to everyone, due to all of the support you have given me my transition to Professional Athlete has so far been an amazing experience!

Congratulations Francois on a great race. We look forward to what the rest of the season holds for you.
