Coach Mathieu is leading the Alaska Philippines teamTBB crew into an end of the season event. Matty will be joined by Banjo Norte, Dhill Anderson Lee and Jenny Guerrero all competing in the Safe Guard 5i50 in Subic Bay which is an old US army base, where the American's where based during WW2 & the Vietnam wars as well to being the spring/fall training grounds of TeamTBB in 2008 and 2009.
This will be the final major race of the year for Dhill and Jenny but will be a tune up race Banjo before his first international race at the Taiwan 70.3 on the first weekend of November.
The course will feature 2 lap swim in the South China Sea, a hilly/technical bike in the Subic rain forest and then a 5km uphill run turn around and then 5km back down to the finish line!
Matty reported in to say
I am very excited to have another race at home. The training for both myself and the Alaska teamTBB Philippines development squad has been going very well. There will be a small but quality pro field composed of 15 time Ironman Distance Champion, ex teamTBB athlete, Belinda Granger as well to 3 time Olympian from Hungary Csaba Kuttor. I expect that both myself and our team will perform amazing and continue the great progress we have seen over the past 18 months.
Best mechanical luck to coach Matty & his amazing team of development athletes!
