Mallorca again

The whole triathlon world was focused on Hawaii over the last few weeks. At the beginning I was a bit upset that I didn’t race any „Ironman“ this year to get qualified, too. But after my ETU Long Distance Champs title at Challenge Vichy and a few talks with my coaches Jo and Brett, I should be happy that I was not there. My time hasn’t come yet. We’ll see when it’s time to race in Kona;-)

Meanwhile I spent the last few weeks at home in Germany. OK, not the whole time because Mr. Winter thought that he should show up earlier than usual. That’s why we escaped to my favourite island: Mallorca. I never wanted to go there, but after last December and the last 10 days down there, I would even love to live on this island! Our house in Bad Toelz (Munich) has to be rebuild and everybody hast o move out, so this little island could be an option to spend the upcoming winter. When you look from the holiday perspective than everybody would say: no! But I don’t want to hang my body in the not existing 30°C hot sun – I want to train! Therefore 15°C are perfect – I won’t get a shock while coming back home in winter having -15°C and meters of snow. But before we decide to move, we spend a few weeks in the U.S. My friend and coach Jo joins me on my first North America trip. That the travel is worth it, I race IM Florida and IM Arizona. It’s a big challenge because that’s the first time where I only have 2 weeks resting in between 2 long distance races! Both races have world-class fields – similar to the WC in Hawaii.

Looking forward to have a great time in Florida and Arizona!

Warm Greetings from Panama City-Yours Diana
